IF THERE IS A FLOOD IN A UNIT OR IF YOU HEAR THE CONTINUOUS SOUND OF A SMOKE ALARM, CALL THE ON-SITE MANAGER EMERGENCY HOTLINE: 808-344-9902

SIRENS

  • A monthly test is conducted of the Emergency Alert System at 11:15 am, followed by a test of the Outdoor Warning Sirens at 11:45 am on the first State workday of each month; this siren test consists of a 60-second steady tone.
  • During a natural disaster, a steady three-minute siren tone is the attention alert signal. When the siren is heard, tune your radio or television to any local station and listen for emergency information and instructions
  • During an man made attack, a wailing three-minute siren tone is the attention alert signal. When the siren is heard, “Get inside, Stay Inside, Stay tuned.” As practical as possible enter a structure, be prepared to spend 14 days within that structure, and stay tuned to your radio or local television station and listen for emergency information and instructions.

TSUNAMI

  •  Tsunami Warning: Take Action- Danger! A tsunami that may cause widespread flooding is expected or occurring. Dangerous coastal flooding and powerful currents are possible and may continue for several hours or days after initial arrival. Follow instructions from local officials. Evacuation is recommended. Move to high ground or inland (away from the water).
  • Tsunami Advisory: Take Action– A tsunami with potential for strong currents or waves dangerous to those in or very near the water is expected or occurring. There may be flooding of beach and harbor areas. Stay out of the water and away from beaches and waterways.
    Follow instructions from local officials.
  • Tsunami Watch: Be Aware– A distant earthquake has occurred. A tsunami is possible. Stay tuned for more information. Be prepared to move to higher ground away from the beaches.
